Selfcare
I started making these simple black and white lettering pieces with small illustrations thanks to the #letteringselfcare challenge on Instagram, hosted by @juliakestner
Working on these gives me a moment to reflect on my own selfcare situation. Little reminders to self. I share them on my Instagram because I know how welcome these little reminders can be. Or just knowing someone else can relate to how you're feeling. Life isn't all rainbows and glitter and at times it is just hard to remember to take care of yourself.
We tend to want to do all the things on our own. I know I did, and still do. A little help never hurts and we're not alone. Even when in the middle of burnout or depression it's important to be able to ask for what you need. To not be carried away on your train of thought. To know there's someone willing to help you get through. It might not always feel like it, but we're always worthy, the way we are, and deserving of kindness.
This little project is dear to me because I care about being open about the mental struggles that are part of all of our lives. Stigma never helps. Opening up does.
